Chosen Best Local Female Vocalist 5 times by the readers of the Providence Phoenix Best Music Poll, Becky has been said to have "the voice of an angel who just got her heart ripped out by the devil." - The New Haven Advocate

Becky's voice is unforgettable much like the women to whom she is compared such as Melissa Etheridge or Bonnie Raitt. As an artist, Becky is many things: a crooner, a crass commentator, a sympathizer, an activist, a lover of profanity and polite behavior, she is real to herself and her audience. Together with longtime friend and guitarist Brian Minisce, Becky Chace writes, performs, and records genre-defying, soulful music which twists and turns through the varied paths of life leaving their listeners feeling connected to the bigger picture through the window of their work. Their music has the sadness and swing of alt-country and blues ala Lucinda Williams, but can kick into the rock bravado of rock and pop ala Bruce Springsteen and drop into the lonely despair of a folk song all in one set.

Anyone who has seen Becky sing in any setting knows she delivers with passion and conviction every time she takes a stage. Her CDs have received critical acclaim from publications including The Boston Globe who called Chace's Take Your Shot "a stunning collection of original roots rock, folk, and blues." Chace has opened for such national acts as Joan Jett, America, Judi Collins, The Gin Blossoms, Better Than Ezra, Big Brother and the Holding Company, Littlefeat, Delbert McClinton, and Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes to name a few and is "arguably hands-down one of the most celebrated singer-songwriters to come out of the Rhode Island area." Motif Magazine

Most recently performing as a duo, she tours continually with dates reaching all points of the East Coast this year from Portland, ME to Atlanta, GA.

Becky Chace believes that music should be used as a tool to bring people together. Her entire career has been a testament to her vision of what music can do. Like her idols, Dylan, Springsteen, and Lucinda Williams, she has always believed there is more than one way to get her message across. Whether by rocking the house playing rock and blues or by playing in an intimate setting with just an acoustic guitar and her voice to communicate her message, Chace proves genres and styles don't matter as long as the singer expresses herself with passion. Having sold over 8,000 plus copies of her independently released CDs, it is obvious that her fans believe this passion comes across on CD as well.

Since she began her career her music has featured the stylings of lead guitarist and fellow songwriter Brian Minisce. Brian shares Becky's vision – his life has been dedicated to what music can do for people and his ability to captivate an audience with his original guitar playing which has long been a hallmark of Becky's shows.

This year Becky released her eighth independent CD “A River Under Me.” You can find all 87 of her published original songs on her website for download. As for the future, with 8 CDs released, we know Becky will continue to have a lot to say.
