Would you like to host a house concert? Brian and I have been playing more house concerts lately and we absolutely love the experience.
Here's the deal: If you or someone you know has a home that can accommodate a house concert, let's talk! All you need is a little space and some friends.
Here's how it works:
1) The host(s) invite the guests (audience members).
2) Typically at least a 30 person minimum.
3) The space (indoors or outdoors) is arranged with seating; rows of seats, like a theater.
4) Each guest pays a cover, which pays us. Some hosts prefer to pay the performers themselves, we can discuss this option if necessary.
5) The host(s) can either provide the drinks and food or the host(s) can ask guest to BYO.
6) A proper invitation or evite is sent to the guests explaining clearly that this is a CONCERT being hosted at a home, so as to paint the picture that the live music is not background entertainment.
(For example: 7pm arrival, 7:30 promptly for the concert)
This gives you the opportunity to share music that you love, with the ones you love without trying to drag them out to a club and opens it up for all ages.
This gives us the opportunity to perform in a proper listening-setting for new and current fans without the disturbance of bar noise, etc.
We of course also offer private party experiences that are less concert and more backyard band type of events. These are for a guarantee fee.
Check out video and a photo of a house concert we did at my house in 2010 with Namoli Brennet.
